Identifying and supporting the best ideas to promote citizenship education and democratic values is the goal of the event, which will start on 20 September at the State Pedagogical University ‘Ion Creanga’. Moldova will be the fifth country to organise such an event.
During three days, the participants from different regions of the country will be able to discuss the problems of citizenship education in Modova and in the region, attend master classes organised by an international team of experts on topics related to the development and promotion of project ideas, planning of events, etc.
10 teams consisting of teachers, NGO and community activists will compete for winning the Eduthon. The top three teams will receive money to implement projects in their communities.
The EENCE-Eduthon-2024 is organised by the Eastern European Association for Citizenship Education with the support of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) at the expense of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Eduthon in Moldova is organised by the National Association of Young Historians.
In August and September Eduthon was hosted by Georgia, Poland, Ukraine and Armenia. After Moldova, this event will also take place in Azerbaijan.
