EENCE is looking for international experts for the Eduthon of Citizenship Education in 6 countries

If you work in the field of citizenship education and have experience in consulting on the development and promotion of project ideas in this area – we invite you to apply for our Eduthon!

What’s an Eduthon?

The Eduthon is an educational event format aimed at finalising the concepts of project ideas that participants have stated.

The aim of EENCE-Eduthon is to identify and support the best ideas aimed at promoting citizenship education and democratic values in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Poland/Lithuania (here, participants can be displaced persons from Ukraine and Belarus who are currently living in these countries).

What will Eduton look like?

Eduthons in the countries listed above will take place in August-September 2024.

  • Georgia, 19-21 August
  • Poland, 5-7 September.
  • Armenia, 13-15 September.
  • Ukraine, 17-19 September.
  • Moldova, 20-22 September.
  • Azerbaijan, 24-26 September.

Each Eduthon (3 working days) will be attended by 10 competitively selected teams (2 people per team), which will submit ideas for educational, informational, cultural and other projects in the field of citizenship education.

Teams selected to participate in the Eduthon may consist of NGO and community activists, teachers, students, artists and others who would like to contribute to the promotion of civic education and democracy in their communities and countries.

During the Eduthon, international teams of experts will help these teams to finalise their project concepts, plan their promotion, and methodologically prepare educational and other activities.

Separate events of the Eduthon will be devoted to discussing the essence of citizenship education and different strategies for its promotion in the region.

At the end of each Eduthon, three winners will be selected and will receive financial support to implement their projects in their communities.

Conditions of work

Competitively selected experts will be required to participate in the whole Eduthon in one or the other country.

Sessions (1 – 1.5 hours) can be held in English or Russian (translation into national languages will be provided if necessary).

Within Eduthon, you may claim to hold no more than two of the topics named below:

  • How to make sure your project “works” to promote citizenship education
  • How to make your project idea logical and understandable
  • How to make your project visible and attractive
  • How to ensure the sustainability of your activities

The application form should include a brief description of the format, session plan, methods, expected results within the selected topics.

Additionally, it is possible to propose the topic of an optional activity that may be of interest to Eduthon participants.

Priority in the selection process will be given to EENCE Network members who have re-registered in 2024, but other experts are also welcome!

The Eduthon organisers will provide participants with food and accommodation on the days of the event, as well as reimburse the cost of flights/travel.

The approximate fee for working at Eduthon as an expert is 350 euros (including taxes), but will vary according to the workload of a particular expert.

How do I apply?

If you are interested in participating in Eduthon as an expert, please fill in this form by 31 July.

Please note that you can apply for Eduthon in up to 2 countries.

Who are the organisers of Eduthon?
