The first working meeting of the Eduthon team, which was attended by EENCE Network Board members, took place on 10 June.
The selection of national coordinators was competitive.
The selection process took into account the potential coordinators’ membership in EENCE and experience in working with the Network, the potential of the organisations the candidates represented, motivation and other factors.
That’s who will coordinate Eduthon:
Аzerbaijan | Azar Ramazanov | Adult Education Association Public Union/Adult Education Consulting Centre LLC |
Armenia | Anna Zakaryan | Space for Women Solidarity NGO |
Moldova | Alexandru Seu | The Association of Young Historians of Moldova |
Poland | Sergiy Sukhoboychenko | Flying Bags Movement Foundation |
Ukraine | Oksana Urban | European vector of Volyn NGO |
We hope that a national coordinator from Georgia, whose civil society is going through difficult times due to the adoption of the law ‘On Foreign Influence’, will soon join the Eduthon team.
The tasks of the national coordinators will be to organise the selection of Eduthon participants, to organise the event in their country (August-September, 2024), and to help the Eduton winners to implement their projects (September-October, 2024).
In the coming weeks, a call for international and national experts to advise Eduthon participants in different countries will be announced, as well as national competitions for the best ideas for civic education, the winners of which will be invited to the Eduthon.
The EENCE Eduthons aim to identify and support the best ideas for promoting civic education and democratic values in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Poland (where Eduthon events will be held for peope from Ukraine and Belarus).
The EENCE-Eduthon-2024 is organised by the Eastern European Association for Citizenship Education with the support of the Federal Agency for Civic Education (bpb) at the expense of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
